Hariyali Fish Tikka is grilled or pan fried fish pieces that are marinated in a blend of herbs and spices. Serve it with some vegetables to make a meal or as an appetizer.

Serves : 4


Fish : 500 grams cubed (I used Basa)

Ginger garlic paste : 1 tablespoon

Yogurt : 1 tablespoon

Cumin powder : 1 teaspoon

Coconut powder : 1 teaspoon

Turmeric : 1/4 teaspoon

Red chilli paste : 1/2 teaspoon

Lemon juice : 2 teaspoons

Garam masala : 1/2 teaspoon

Salt to taste

To Make a paste:

Onion : 1 medium chopped

Cilantro/Coriander leaves: 1 cup chopped

Mint leaves : 1/2 cup chopped

Green chillies: 4 chopped

Curry leaves : 1 sprig

Method :

Take all the ingredients listed under to make a paste into a blender jar and blend to make a paste by adding 1/4 cup of water.

In a medium sized bowl, add all the ingredients, the green paste and mix well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and spread the fish pieces. Fry until they are golden brown on both sides.

Serve hot with some mint sauce or with fresh vegetables.
