Senakkaram is made with puffed Bengal gram/putnalu. It is used in dry curries or as a side for Idly and Dosa with some melted ghee.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes 
Makes : 1 1/4 cups of powder 
Ingredients:
Puffed Bengal gram: 1 cup
Dry red chilies: 10
Coconut powder: 1 tbsp 
Coriander seeds: 1 tsp 
Methi seeds : 1/2 tsp 
Jeera : 1 tsp 
Garlic cloves: 4
Turmeric: 1 tsp 
Salt to taste 
Method
Dry roast all ingredients except garlic for 2 minutes until you smell the spices. Turn off the stove.
Let it cool for 3-4 minutes and grind into a fine powder. Add garlic cloves and grind again. 
The powder can be stored in an air tight container for 3 months.
